Children and the Library
The Children's section of the Hampstead Public Library is a fun and educational place with offerings for all ages:
Picture books- Fiction and Non-Fiction
Non-fiction and reference books for middle grade kids
Children's audiobooks for very young through middle grade level
Kids' DVD movies and TV series
There are two computers just for kids with lots and lots of new games and programs located in the far corner of the children’s area in the library.
They are called Early Literacy Stations and are produced by a company called "AWE” (Advanced Workstations in Education) especially for children from 2 to 8 years of age. They feature kid friendly programs that will introduce them to reading, math, art, typing and lots of other stuff while they have fun playing the games.
Children's Display Case
Another gift from the Hampstead Mother's Club to the Children's Section of the library is a glass display case.
Children are encouraged to display their collections in our case. Does anyone have a collection they would like to share? Sign up at the circulation desk and you will have the opportunity to display your cherished objects in our children's display case.
The collection will stay in the case for approximately one month, and you can choose a prize book as a token of our appreciation.
The Library has passes to several museums which are of interest to children. Listed below are a few of them, but Click Here
to see more.
The children of Hampstead are grateful to these organizations for providing such cultural and educational opportunities.
