NEW LIBRARY CARDS
Our new library cards are here!
They sport our snazzy new logo. You’ll get two cards with the same new library card number – one the size of a credit card, the other a keytag. It will only take us a minute to switch you from your old card to your new flashy, state of the art card the next time you are in the library. These new cards are beautiful, but they will also make it easier to access tons of resources online.
The new cards have 14 digit card numbers. The first part of the number means that your card is from the Hampstead Public Library (they all start with 245...). Use this 14 digit number when you are asked on the computer for your library card number. Using these long card numbers will mean that you don't have to remember secret passwords to get access to resources on the computer. All you need is your card. The new numbers work for downloadable audiobooks and for reading magazine articles or newspapers online with the library's subscriptions.
The ending digits of this long number are your unique Hampstead patron number. Look for the digits that are underlined. You want the five digits that are just before the last digit. You can use this number if you need to give us your card number over the phone, or if you need to write it on an Interlibrary Loan request or book purchase request, or any other time when our library staff will be using your number. All patron numbers start with a "1".
