Background
The Hampstead Public Library building was built in 1988.
It was not occupied until the Library opened on the first floor in 1994.
The second floor was not heated until the Library expanded to the second floor in 2004.
During the 2004 construction some of the windows on the second floor were screwed shut because the window sills were rotting.
